Why Community access is free.
Both products are free for verified Traditional Owner corporations, PBCs and First Nations community members. Verification is a short manual step, and free accounts get the same product as paid ones.
The reason is practical, not charitable
Ridgeline Radar tracks Western Australia's mining, environmental and water approvals — the notices, objection windows and appeal rights that decide what happens on Country. Ridgeline Signal reads the State's electricity market — the transition that is being built, in large part, on Country. The people with the oldest and deepest stake in those decisions should not be the ones priced out of seeing them coming.
Traditional Owner corporations and Prescribed Bodies Corporate carry statutory consultation loads that would stretch a well-resourced government agency, usually on a fraction of the budget. A missed notice can mean a lost right of reply on a decision that stands for decades. Making the tools free for the people carrying that load is not a discount program — it is the product doing what it is for.
What "the same product" means
A verified free account is not a cut-down tier. It is the same monitoring, the same briefing, the same alerts and the same evidence standard as a paid account. There is no advertising anywhere in the products, and free accounts are never a marketing list. Verification is a short manual step — we ask enough to establish eligibility, use it only for that decision, and nothing more.
The nominated-cause contribution
Paying Community-tier subscribers nominate a cause, and 20% of the subscription — net of taxes and payment-processing costs — goes to it. The nomination is the subscriber's, not ours: it stays with the causes the people closest to Country choose, rather than with a program we pick and put our name on.
How to apply
Choose the Community tier at signup on either product and apply — no payment method is required for approved concessional accounts. Verification is a short manual step and we come back to you by email. If we can't confirm eligibility we say so plainly, and if you think we've got it wrong, reply and we will look again — we would genuinely rather get it right.
